Tangier Smith Fire Prevention November 18, 2022

On Friday November 18, 2022 Mastic Beach Firemen Cuervo, Thomas, Munster, Fower B. Fower R. Fire Police Butler, Meinke and Dept. Photographer Rugen,  gave a Fire Prevention Assembly at Tangier Smith Elementary  school to grades kindergarten to 5th. grade. The students were shown a firefighter in full gear that they would use if they were going into a fire. Firefighters were crawling around the children so they can see and hear what the firefighter sounds like while they are breathing with their air packs on. They were also taught by Firefighter Thomas how to stop, drop and roll in case their clothing caught fire. Firefighter Cuervo also explained the tools that are used at a fire.
