Lt Montreuil who was in charge of the scene immediately used his department radio to notify Country Control of the motor vehicle accident and to have his department activated for rescue to the scene.
Suffolk County Police were also on scene and along with Lt Montreuil investigated the vehicle that had appeared to have been traveling south bound and hit a power pole breaking the pole in half along with two transformers landing into the roadway.
Wires were down around the vehicle and the driver was gone apparently the driver took off before anyone arrived on scene.
The vehicle ended up facing the street with the rear end into a stockade fence of the home on the corner of Alder and Mastic Beach Road.

The first truck for the fire department on scene was unit 7 driven by firefighter Ray Bell and in the officer's seat was firefighter Mike M.
The next truck to arrive on scene was unit 8 driven by firefighter/commissioner Ray T.
Jim Ennesser Mastic Beach Fire Police used unit 6 to close off Pine Road and Beaver Drive where live wires were hanging down to the street.
Firemen had to wait for LIPA to turn off power to the wires that were hanging down and around the vehicle before they could secure the vehicle.
