Scuba Training

On Friday January 23, 2004 the Town of Brookhaven opened the doors of the YMCA pool in Mastic Beach for the Mastic Beach Fire Department and Bellport Fire Department to have a scuba training session.

The Fire Department scuba coordinator Chief Bill Biondi had set up this training exercise for both departments. This training is needed so that when the department is called for a water rescue of any type they are ready.

This is an example of what the Mastic Beach Firemen and Bellport Firemen do while we are home in our warm cozy house.

Firefighters don't only fight fires they also are called when somebody is in trouble on their boat, jet ski, or just out for a swim and maybe can't get back to the shore.

No mater what the weather is outside the firefighters respond when called for help.
